Note from Mrs. Brown re: Math Help

Dear Parents,

I am starting something new in math this week in hopes of improving test scores. I don't want to increase homework, but I've seen a decline in scores since Christmas break. I will now be sending home a pre-test on the Monday of a test week. If your student does 5 problems each night it shouldn't feel like much more work. The pre-test is almost identical to the test. This will allow them to go back to the lesson that the problem is from, get your help, or ask me for help if they are not understanding that type of problem. I will not require this as homework, but I will give extra credit for it if they bring it Friday. If your student is needing extra help they are always welcome at tutoring. They can go to Mr. Hammonds on Tuesdays at 8:00 am, Mrs. King on Wednesdays after school, and my room on Thursdays after school. Because I have the day before our test, I try to go over similar problems that will be on the test. I hope this will help your child feel more successful in math.

Thank you,
Mrs. Brown
